Amazon.com Review
When a visitor--wanted or unwanted--approaches a house on foot or in a vehicle the motion-detecting sensor unit of this warning device sends a signal to the receiver indoors, which chimes an alert. The device is wireless and has a 400-foot range. It requires three C-cell batteries for the receiver and one 9-volt battery for the transmitting sensor. (Batteries are not included.) The sensor is housed in weather-resistant plastic, installs with a screw on any surface, such as a mailbox post, garage, or door, and measures 4-1/4 inches high, 2-5/8 inches wide, and 2-1/4 inches deep. The portable receiver has an identical housing, can be set to chime high or low (or turned off), and measures 5 inches high, 3-5/8 inches wide, and 1-1/2 inches deep. --Fred Brack

1 out of 5 stars save your cash   September 6, 2010
Walter Dagostino (ny)
Hello I bought this item thinking it would be great just to monitor my driveway. I installed it and after some tweaking I had it working great. No false alarms, had a car pull into my driveway and it went off well. Next day, it went off when my paper boy dropped off the paper. Great. Then, about 9 this morning it started going off for no apparent reason, and kept going off, didn't stop. I unplugged the batteries and reinstalled them thinking it would somehow reset but no luck. Just threw it in the garbage. Not worth returning because it was only 10 bucks and the shipping alone wouldn't make it worth it. Basically you get what you pay for. KEEP YOUR 10 DOLLARS AND DO NOT BUY THIS> IF I SAVE ONE PERSON FROM BUYING THIS, I"D BE GLAD I WROTE THIS REVIEW>

1 out of 5 stars Two day shipping - I calculate different   September 6, 2010
Patrick (Taylor Ridge, Israel)
I made my order on September 2nd
They said it would be 2 days shipping.
There estimated delievery date is September 9th,2010
Even with excluding the weekend and Monday Holiday
I count that as 4 business days no matter how you look at it.

At the current time I can not rate the item - disappointed with the shipping.

Not happy about this at all.

1 out of 5 stars Doesn't work   August 31, 2010
Hirameagle (Georgia)
This little device would be GREAT if they worked, but I've had two and neither works correctly! The first one ate the batteries...new Duracells in way less than a week. I tried to buy a DC converter, but there are no specs given for the converter.....it's voltage is shown, but not how many amps and the Radio Shack person said if I picked one with too much amperage, it wold fry the board in the device. Soooo, I sent that one back and got another one. This one doesn't seem to deplete the batteries so fast, but it's completely unreliable. I had the transmitter placed on a tree about 200 +/- feet from the receiver, inside a little bird house looking cover to protect it from rain and sun, etc. It seemed to work at first, but within a day or less it would alarm sometime and not other times. I thought it was possibly too far from the house/receiver, so I moved it closer...maybe 150 feet from the receiver and not much change. Then I moved the receiver upstairs and put it in the window looking right at the transmitter, but still doesn't work most of the time. The garbage truck did set it off a few days ago and a few nights back it went off about 4:00AM. Never saw anything....probably deer walked in front of it.

Can't say the one you buy won't work, but I haven't had good luck at all and I wish they would work, because it's just what we need with a long, rural type driveway!!!

4 out of 5 stars Good alarm for the money!   August 30, 2010
Donald Kraemer (Temple, NH)
I was looking for an inexpensive way to alert me when someone comes up our driveway. This was the solution! It has been up for a month and worked well. Although it does tell me when a squirrel is on the tree, it does its job well. I would suggest mounting where squirrels don't play.

1 out of 5 stars Do not waste you money.   August 27, 2010

Outdoor sensor only worked when cars were coming to the house, never leaving. Indoor sensor quit working completely after only 1 week. Terrible product.
