Good for the Price August 23, 2010 Charles This camera is a good network camera at this price range. It was easy to setup and I thought the software that came with it was simple to understand and use. The reason I give it 3 stars is because the camera signal is very poor at around 30 feet. The signal seems to even drop at times. I have moved it closer to my access point and now it works great. I have two other wireless cameras and they appear to work well from about 30 feet. This camera has a shorter ant. could possibly replace with bigger one, but I am happy for what I gave for it. Also should point out this camera has no sound so if you need this look elsewhere.
Disappointed with it until I upgraded the firmware to 1.03 August 15, 2010 K. Hudson (Tempe, AZ) This product used to lose its connection to the network frequently, causing me to have to go connect a cable to reset. That happened often enough that I considered running a wired connection to it permanently. After upgrading the firmware on the camera to 1.03, I don't have those issues anymore.
It is OK August 8, 2010 M. A. Higgins (Greensboro, GA) It was easy to setup and does what I need it to do, which is allow me to watch a car lot for customers from my office. I have made no attempt to access it from outside my network, so I cannot speak to that use. My biggest problem with it: if I blow up th picture to full screen the way I like it, the picture quality is very poor. If I keep the picture small, it is a good picture. But even when the picture quality is bad, on the full screen, I can see if a customer comes so it works for me and was inexpensve.
Disappointing Wireless Range July 5, 2010 J. Guevara (San Jose, California) I bought the DCS-920 to supplement my old DLink DCS-2100+. It's easy to setup, configure & small. I find the wirelless range to be less than half the range of my old DCS-2100+. It worked great in wired ethernet setup but that's not the reason why I bought it. I need it in wireless mode and it failed my expectation. I prefer not to crawl inside ceilings, drill holes and run cables, the reason why I bought a wireless ip camera.
Not compatible with my wireless router encryption, and $20 rebate never came June 16, 2010 R. Zhu (Fremont, CA United States) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This device did not work with the ATT 2wire DSL wireless router. After a lot of experimenting, I found I had to change my wireless router encryption to WEP to work with this device, none of the other encryption would work. Most folks would have given up and returned, but I thought with $20 rebate each, it may be worth keeping them (I bought two around Xmas time 2009 right here). However, I am disappointed the rebate never came after I sent them everything required (cut the bar code, receipt, and the rebate form etc) near the end of January. Never a communication about this rebate.
