Amazon.com Product Review Designed for residential use, the Nighthawk Carbon Monoxide detector keeps everyone in the house safe from poisonous, odorless CO fumes. The unit detects carbon monoxide levels from 30 to 999 parts per million. Its low-profile design doesn't stand out when connect to any wall outlet. The unit plugs directly into AC outlets for easy setup, and comes equipped with a 9-volt battery for backup during power outages. Its loud, 85-decibel alarm is sure to alert the whole house when safe carbon monoxide levels are breached. The Nighthawk is UL listed, and features a continuous digital readout of carbon monoxide levels, as well as peak-level memory display, and a test/reset button. It also can be stationed on a tabletop with the included 8-foot AC cord. The Nighthawk comes with a 5-year manufacturer warranty. --Brian D. Olson

Carbon Monoxide Alarm February 11, 2010 D. Miller (Oak Leaf, Tx) We gave this item as a gift, when I inquired as to it's efficiency,. It appears to be working fine.
May have saved my family from a tragedy February 9, 2010 Dan Billings (Louisville, Kentucky) This device detects low level CO. The reading was dead on the levels measured by our fire department. How do I know? While on a weekend trip with some of my buddies, this thing alerted my wife that there was a leak at home. She called the fire department when both of our meters, upstairs and downstairs, began to sound the alarm. When they arrived, they used a fancy detector with a probe to locate the source of the problem. The exhaust duct from our water heater in the cellar had separated at an elbow, causing the gas to leak outside of the chimney and up through the floor. The fire fighters measured the gas levels around our detectors, and the measurements were consistent, before and after they reconnected the duct. There was never any odor or sign of a problem other than our Kiddie alarms. The level of CO was over 250PPM when the fire department arrived. That is high enough to do serious harm. What a life saver! I now have a total of four detectors, and I sleep better for it.
BAD SHAPE February 8, 2010 R. berger 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
THIS ITEM CAME IN WITH AN EXPIRED BATTERY . IT WORKED FOR ONE WEEK AND STARTED BEEPING LOW BATTERY. I CONTACTED AMAZON TWICE AND NEVER RECEIVED A REPLY. I THINK THAT THIS ITEM, CO DETECTOR, WHICH WORKS ON BATTERY SHOULD HAVE BEEN DELIVERED WITH A BATTERY THAT WORKED FOR AT LEAST ONE YEAR NOT ONE WEEK . I HAD PURCHASED THIS ITEM BEFOR FROM A STORE AND HAD NO COMPLAINTS. I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMEND THAT THIS CO DETECTOR NOT BE PURCHASED FROM AMAZON.
So far so good February 1, 2010 Average Joe 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had a scare with another Kiddie CO detector... learned that my furnace was going... Since then I installed this to quantify the risk and have not had any scares. So far so good.
Replace Your CO Monitors To Maintain Protection January 30, 2010 R. Tuttle (Katy, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Unlike smoke detectors, carbon monoxide alarms must be replaced periodically to maintain protection. I used similar Kidde plug-in CO Alarms in the past with total satisfaction. I replaced my two 8-year old devices with new "Kidde KN-COPP-3 Nighthawk Plug-In Carbon Monoxide Alarm with Battery Backup and Digital Display" units. Appearance and functionality matched to the previous devices and I recommend these units to anybody needing carbon monoxide alarms.
